What this means, in practice

This check tells you where you stand against the threshold and how much of your supply base is currently unverified, it isn't a cost figure, the actual UK ETS price, Carbon Price Support rate and sector default values will be published closer to 2027 and will move over time. What it does tell you is who to start the data conversation with, and when.

Is this a cost estimate?

No. The real UK ETS price, Carbon Price Support rate and sector default values aren't published yet, so any cost figure right now would be a guess. This checks your registration exposure and data readiness, not a bill.

I'm a supplier exporting into the UK, not an importer, does this apply to me?

The threshold check is written for UK importers, but the same underlying question, which sectors and what value, matters to a supplier too, since it determines whether your UK customers will be asking you for verified data. Worth running anyway.
