What we collect
Driftwatch is the data controller for the personal data described here. We collect only what's needed for the two ways you might interact with this site:
- The free carbon footprint calculator. An email address, and optionally a company name, before showing your result.
- A direct enquiry. Whatever you include when you email us or book a call, typically your name, email, and details of what you need.
No tracking cookies, no advertising pixels, no visitor profiling.
How we use it
To follow up on a calculator result or respond to an enquiry, and if you choose to proceed, to scope and deliver the work you've asked for. Nothing is added to a marketing list without asking you separately first.
Legal basis
We rely on legitimate interests to follow up on a submission or enquiry, and on consent for anything beyond that, such as future marketing.
Retention
We keep enquiry and calculator data only as long as needed to follow up, or for the length of a working relationship plus a standard period for accounting purposes. You can ask us to delete it sooner, see Your Rights.
Sharing
We don't sell or rent personal data. We use a third-party email hosting provider to run our inbox, a website host to serve this site, and that same host's built-in form handling to receive calculator and enquiry submissions, all process data only on our behalf. The website host is based in the US, so submissions made through the calculator or contact form are processed there, under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses as the legal safeguard for that transfer.
Cookies
This site sets no cookies of its own. It loads fonts from Google's servers, which may log the requesting IP address as standard server behaviour, outside our control and not used by us for any purpose.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you can ask to see, correct, delete, or restrict use of your data, request it in a portable format, or withdraw consent at any time. Email us to exercise any of these, we'll respond within one month.
